Privacy Policy for SwiftSearch
Last updated: January 2025
Your Privacy is Our Priority
SwiftSearch operates entirely offline on your Mac. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or file information. Your searches, indexed files, and usage patterns remain completely private on your device.
Spring Arc LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the SwiftSearch desktop application for macOS (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes our commitment to protecting your privacy and explains the minimal data interactions that occur when using our App.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
SwiftSearch is designed with privacy at its core. We do NOT collect:
- Your file names, paths, or content
- Your search queries or search history
- Your indexed folder locations
- Usage statistics or analytics
- Personal identification information
- Device information or identifiers
- Location data
- Crash reports or diagnostic data
2. Local Data Storage
All data created and used by SwiftSearch is stored locally on your Mac:
2.1 Search Index Database
- Stored in your Mac's application support directory
- Contains only file paths and names from folders you choose to index
- Never transmitted outside your device
- Encrypted by macOS FileVault if enabled
2.2 Application Preferences
- Settings stored in standard macOS preferences
- Includes indexed folder paths and app configuration
- Managed entirely by macOS
2.3 License Information
- Trial and purchase status stored in macOS Keychain
- Secured by Apple's Keychain Services
- Never transmitted to external servers
3. App Store Integration
SwiftSearch uses Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases:
- Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple
- We do not have access to your payment information
- Receipt validation occurs locally on your device
- Purchase history is managed by your Apple ID
4. Data Security
Your data security is ensured through:
- App Sandboxing: SwiftSearch runs in a sandboxed environment
- Limited Permissions: Only accesses folders you explicitly select
- No Network Access: Except for StoreKit transactions handled by Apple
- Local Processing: All indexing and searching happens on your device
- macOS Security: Protected by built-in macOS security features
5. Third-Party Services
SwiftSearch does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, or external APIs. The only external interaction is with Apple's App Store for license verification, which is handled entirely by Apple's secure infrastructure.
6. Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Remove Indexed Folders: Use the app's settings to remove folders from indexing
- Clear Index: Delete the search index at any time from within the app
- Complete Removal: Uninstalling SwiftSearch removes all associated data
- Manual Deletion: You can manually delete the app's data from ~/Library/Application Support/SwiftSearch
7. Children's Privacy
SwiftSearch is a general productivity tool and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. The app will continue to operate with the same privacy-first principles.
9. Your Rights
Since SwiftSearch doesn't collect personal data, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion) don't apply. However, you always have the right to:
- Choose which folders to index
- Delete your local search index
- Uninstall the application completely
- Contact us with any privacy concerns
